Imodium Plus Comfort Tablets 6

Each tablet contains:

Loperamide Hydrochloride 2 mg and Simeticone equivalent to 125 mg dimeticone.

Use:

Imodium Plus Comfort tablets are used to treat acute diarrhoea in adults and adolescents over 12 years, as well as any associated abdominal discomfort due to bloating, cramping or flatulence.

Directions:

Adults: take two as an initial dose, followed by one more after any further loose stools. Do not take any more than 4 caplets in 24hrs.

Children 12- 18 yrs: one tablet initially, followed by one tablet after every loose stool. Not more than 4 tablets should be taken in a day.

Under 12 yrs: not recommended.

These caplets should not be taken for more than 2 days without medical advice.

Do not use if:

• it is for a child under 12 years old.
• you are sensitive to loperamide hydrochloride, simeticone or any of the excipients.
•  you have blood in stool and high fever.
•  you suffer from ulcerative colitis.
•  you suffer from pseudomembranous colitis associated with broad spectrum antibiotics.
•  you suffer from bacterial enterocolitis.

Use in pregnancy:


 Safety in human pregnancy has not been established, although from animal studies there are no indications that loperamide or simeticone possesses teratogenic or embryotoxic properties. Imodium Plus Comfort should not be given during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, unless clinically justified.

Use in lactation:

Small amounts of loperamide may appear in human breast milk. Therefore Imodium Plus Comfort is not recommended during breast-feeding.

Side-effects:

Tiredness, dizziness and drowsiness have been reported in patients taking loperamide. If affected, patients should not drive or operate machinery.
