Why do I need this medicine?
Beclomethasone helps to alleviate the constant runny nose, sneezing and itching associated with allergic rhinitis, non-allergic seasonal rhinitis and the common cold.

It is also used to prevent nasal polyps from recurring after surgical removal.

How do I use this medicine?
Use Beclomethasone nasal spray exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not use it more or less often than instructed by your doctor.

You may need to use Beclomethasone nasal spray for some time before the full benefits can be felt. If you do not feel any better even after 3 weeks of usage, let your doctor know.

Make sure you know how to use your nasal spray. You will need to “prime” your nasal spray the first time you use it. Prime it again if it has not been used for 7 days or more. If you have problems or do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not share your nasal spray with others as it could spread infection.

When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Beclomethasone nasal spray should not be used by children younger than 6 years old. Do not give Beclomethasone to a child unless specifically instructed by the child's doctor.

What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you recently had nose surgery, an infection of your nasal passages or injury to your nose.

Alert your doctor if you have or ever had tuberculosis (TB) or other chest infections.

If you suffer from allergic rhinitis, you should take precautions to minimise exposure to allergens which trigger it off.

Avoid exposure to anyone who is infected with chickenpox or measles. If you are exposed to these infections, contact your doctor immediately.

Do not allow the solution or mist to enter your eyes. If the solution or mist gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with clean water. See a doctor quickly if there is pain, discomfort, blurred or abnormal vision after the solution or mist enters your eyes.

What side effects could I experience?
Some of the common side effects of Beclomethasone nasal spray include headache, nausea, tearing, rashes, unpleasant taste and smell, dry throat and throat irritation.

Beclomethasone nasal spray may also cause sneezing and dry nose, resulting in nose bleeds or pain in the nose. Let your doctor know if any of these side effects do not go away or get worse.

Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor if you are taking any other steroids.

Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.

How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Throw away the nasal spray 3 months after you first open it, even if there is still medication left inside the bottle. This nasal spray expires 3 months after first opening.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
