Why do I need this medicine?
Sodium Citrate helps to prevent the formation of certain types of kidney stones.

Take Sodium Citrate together with food or within 30 minutes after a meal or bedtime snack. This may help to minimise any diarrhoea that Sodium Citrate may cause.
Be sure to take it with plenty of water.
Sodium Citrate is available as tablets and in solution (syrup) form.
If you have been given tablets, swallow them whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew them.
If you have been given the solution (syrup), dilute each dose with water before you take it. Drink plenty of water. You may refrigerate the oral solution before taking it, as the cold solution would taste less unpleasant.
