Optrex Infected Eye Ointment 4g

Chloramphenicol Ph Eur. 1% w/w

Indication:

For the treatment of acute bacterial conjunctivitis (eye infections).

Dosage:

Ensure your hands are clean and avoid contact with the open end of the tube. Position the tip of the tube close to the eye. Gently pull the lower eyelid downwards and look up. Apply a strip of ointment approximately 1cm in length to the inside of the eyelid and blink several times to spread the ointment. The ointment should be applied either at night if eye drops are used during the day, or 3 to 4 times a day if eye ointment is used alone. The pharmacist will advise on the most suitable treatment. Treatment should continue for 5 days even if symptoms improve. Discard 28 days after opening.

Caution:

Keep out of reach and sight of children. Always read the leaflet provided. Not intended for children under 2 years of age.
