Alverine 120mg
Indication
Relief of smooth muscle spasm in conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, painful diverticular disease of the colon and primary dysmenorrhoea.
Dosage
Adults and children 12 years and over: One 1-3 times daily
Caution
Paralytic ileus, intestinal obstruction. If symptoms are experienced for the first time consult doctor before starting treatment.

Why do I need this medicine?
Alverine relaxes the stomach muscles. It prevents stomach cramps in conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (also known as IBS). IBS often causes stomach pain, bloating, stomach wind, constipation or diarrhoea, swelling and pain of the large intestine.
It also relaxes the muscle of the womb and is used to treat painful menstruation.
How do I take this medicine?
Take Alverine exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
You may take Alverine with or without food.
When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have paralytic ileus, a condition where part of the gut has failed to function. This might cause blockage of the digestive tract. You should not take Alverine if you have this condition.
What should I take note of while taking this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not give Alverine to children unless specifically instructed to do so by the child's doctor.
Alverine is not meant for children younger than 12 years old.
What side effects could I experience?
Alverine may cause dizziness. If you feel dizzy, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
Alverine may also cause nausea, headache, skin itch and rashes.
Let your doctor know if these side effects bother you or if they do not go away.
Alverine may cause other side effects. Consult your doctor if you have unusual problems while taking this medicine.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
